An Post To Appear At Communications Committee Tomorrow To Discuss Closure Of Cork Mail Centre

The company announced the loss of 216 jobs at the letter sorting centre in Little Island in July in a move that will save the company €11 million.
The job losses follow confirmation from the company last year that it intends to close 159 post offices as part of restructuring plans.
An Post says the Cork Centre is operating below 25% capacity, however staff say the centre does not need to be closed and have vowed to fight the closure
An Post Chief Executive David McRedmond is scheduled to address the closures tomorrow
