Annual Coal Quay Festival launched
The annual Coal Quay Festival which takes place on Saturday 17th of August, is being launched in the city this evening.
The iconic Coal Quay shawlies will be in attendance wearing shawls that have been worn by the original traders on the Coal Quay over the past 100 years.
The festival is hosting a number of family friendly free events.
Speaking to RedFM News Coal Quay Shawlie Breda Scanlon says her shawl is a part of history in Cork and that's also why this festival is so important:
