Anti-water charges group expect good turn out at protest

The 'Burn the Bills' protest will be happening in the city tomorrow.

The "We Won't Pay" Campaign say they expect a significant number of people to support tomorrow's Burn the Bills protest in Cork city

The protest will feature a rally through the city from 2pm starting at the City Library on the Grand Parade followed by a mass burning of water bills.

This latest rally comes in the wake of water bills being issued by Irish Water in the past fortnight to the majority of householders across the city and county

The We Won't Pay campaign calculates that more than 1.5 million water bills have been sent out by Irish Water since early April and claims that more than a million of these have since passed the due date for payment.
