Anyone With Mumps Being Asked To Limit Contact With Others While Infectious

They're being advised not to attend work, school or college

The call has come from the regional department of Public Health which was reacting to the ongoing outbreaks of mumps in Cork and Kerry

25 cases have been reported in Cork with the majority of the cases affecting people in the 15 to 24 year old age bracket at third level colleges

Students are also being being urged to check their vaccination status before returning to college and ensure that they have had two doses of the MMR vaccine.

Anyone with mumps is being advised to stay at home during their infectious period which is five days after the onset of swelling
