Ariel Castro found dead in prison

US prison officials have confirmed that Ariel Castro - the man responsible for holding three women captive for a decade - has been found dead in jail. Officials tried to resuscitate the 53 year old but efforts failed. He had been serving a jail term of life plus 1,000 years following his guilty plea to 937 counts including kidnapping and rape. The three women - who disappeared separately between 2002 and 2004 - escaped in May.
