Ashling Thompson Warned She Will Face Imprisonment If She Doesn't Pay €6,000 To Assault Victims & Charity

Three time all Ireland winner Ashling Thompson has been warned she will face imprisonment for assaulting two women if she does not €6,000 to her victims and to charity.

The 29-year-old received the fine but avoided a conviction after pleading guilty to assaulting Jennifer Coakley and Aoife O'Flaherty in a Cork city nightclub on February 25th 2018.

The Charleville native appeared at Cork District Court yesterday for sentencing and was ordered by Judge Con O'Leary to pay €2,500 to Edel House, €2,000 to Jennifer Coakley, €1,000 to Cuanlee refuge for abused women and children and €500 to Aoife O' Flaherty.

He also warned her that she would be jailed if she did not pay the money by the 30th of September.

Her Solicitor Eddie Burke spoke to RedFM News outside the court:
