Association Representing 1,100 Commissioned Officers Votes To Accept €10 Million Package

The package is aimed at addressing a recruitment and retention crisis in the Defence Forces. 

Over two thirds of delegates at RACO's conference voted in favour of the Public Sector Pay Commission proposals, which include increases to the Military Service Allowance, Sunday premium rates, and pay for overseas duty.

The government hopes the allowances package will make military careers more attractive, after nearly 600 personnel left the Army, Air Corps and Naval Service in the first eight months of this year alone.
