Assurances Irish waters are being well patrolled

It comes as a number of Irish Naval vessels have been on missions in recent months.
The Irish Naval Service have moved to allays fears that Irish Waters aren't being well patrolled while Irish naval vessels are at sea on migrant rescue missions.
Concern had been expressed that about the protection of Irish Waters with Marine Minister Simon Coveney admitting that if a vessel is on a rescue mission elsewhere it means that instead of having 8 ships patrolling Irish waters, that is reduced to seven.
Over 50 sailors were welcomed home in Haulbowline today by family and friends after a ten week rescue and recovery mission on board the LE Niamh.
Speaking to RedFM News at the homecoming Naval Press Officer Lieutenant Commander Caoimhín Mac Unfraidh says Irish waters are well protected and the mission is of huge benefit to the navy.
