ASTI is prepared to take industrial action
That's if pay equality for teachers is not addressed urgently.
That's the warning from Deputy General Secretary of the ASTI Diarmuid de Paor, who was speaking on the first day of the union's annual conference at the Clayton Silver Springs Hotel in Cork city.
Pay equality for young teachers is set to dominate the three day conference with a number of motions up for debate calling for progress on the issue.
Speaking to RedFM News, Diarmuid de Paor from the ASTI says young teachers in Cork are struggling.
