Aviation industry says Government will have to answer to the EU if they row back on restarting international travel

There's concern there could be a delay to introducing the EU Digital Covid certificate due to the Delta variant

The Tanaiste said last weekend the countty was "on target" to reopen foreign travel on July 19th.

Captain Simon Croughan from Recover Irish Aviation says they have to push ahead with it:

"It's got to be backed by a proper analysis, a scientific approach and everybody in Europe has all the data that Ireland has so you know, if they do, even attempt to delay this they're going to have to answer to EU, and I believe they will be subject to sensor there because you know nobody else is going to do this in the EU so why would Ireland even consider it."
