Back to school costs continue to soar

Back to school costs are continuing to rise and have increased by nearly 5% since 2015.
The average cost per child for primary school has risen to over €1200 while it costs almost €1500 per secondary school student.
A survey by the Irish League of Credit Unions found 4 in 10 parents say they cannot afford to buy their children new shoes.
Some parents say they will be forced to deny thier children certain school items while almost 25% of parents in Munster say they will have to cut extracurricular activites to meet costs.
