Ballintemple Area Residents Association in fresh call for Marina Park not to be used for parking

Fresh calls have been made for talks over plans to turn part of Marina Park into an area for parking cars and buses.
A group of residents living near Páirc Ui Chaoimh have already appealed for more communication from the GAA and the City Council in relation to upcoming events at the stadium.
Ballintemple Area Residents Association have expressed their concern that the GAA wants to use part of the Marina Park for parking for cars and buses.
BARA says there are several brownfield sites along the Marina that could be used for parking instead.
Speaking to RedFM News, Colm O'Leary from BARA says their concern, at the moment, is in relation to car park facilities.
"We welcome concerts in the area as long as there is full consultation with us prior to those concerts in the planning phase.
"One major concern at the moment is with Páirc uí Chaoimh's development plan to expand car parking facilities into the Marina Park.
"What we want to see is the realisation of the Marina Park development plan, and we don't want to parts of it turned into an unrequired car park."
