Baltimore Lifeboat Launched As Boat Goes Aground Off Cork Coast

The Baltimore lifeboat was launched in the early hours of this morning, following a distress call off the Cork coast.
The RNLI came to the rescue of a boat that had run aground in heavy fog off the coast of Baltimore.
Although conditions in the area were calm, visibility was poor due to fog that had descended at the time.
The 50ft vessel had three crew on board and was towed to safety before being escorted back to Baltimore harbour by the lifeboat.
With bad weather forecast for the next few days, the RNLI is reminding the public to always wear a lifejacket when taking to the sea, and to respect the water.
