Baltimore RNLI called out to assist two separate incidents yesterday

Baltimore RNLI are advising people to be cautious in coastal areas over the coming days due to a forecast of strong winds.
The first incident occurred on Heir Island to provide a medical evacuation to a lady following a fall off the coast of West Cork.
The six volunteer crew under Coxswain Kieran Cotter arrived at the scene and transferred the casualty to Baltimore lifeboat station at 5 past 12 where she was then assisted by HSE Ambulance crew.
The crew launched a second time just after 4 o'clock following a request from the Irish Coast Guard after three bodyboarders got into difficulty off Barleycove near Mizen Head.
At around 4:45pm the crew were asked to stand down after the three people had made it safely ashore.
