Bandon braced as weather warning set to come into effect

It comes as the Red Cross are set to start accepting applications for emergency funding from businesses affected by Storm Desmond.

The Red Cross will start accepting applications for emergency funding from businesses affected by Storm Desmond from this evening. 

That's according to Minister for Defence Simon Coveney who revealed details of emergency payments to uninsured businesses affected by flooding yesterday. 

Small businesses very badly hit by the storm will be able to apply for up to €20,000 in Government funding.

Uninsured businesses can expect up to €5000 in the next ten days, with further money available after Christmas.

The Bandon community are bracing themselves once again as a flood warning has been issued for the town and a new national status yellow weather warning comes into effect at midnight with up to  80mm of rain expected to fall.
