Central Bank publishes a report into how 7 banks deal with struggling homeowners

 

The Central Bank says it can't legally name lenders who are mistreating mortgage holders in arrears.

It's published a report into how 7 banks deal with struggling home owners, which identified a series of problems.

Some institutions continued with legal actions against people despite a repayment schedule being agreed, while others looked for extra payments, on top of the agreed schedule.

However none of the misbehaving banks has been identified, and director of Consumer Protection Bernard Sheridan says there's a good reason:
