Barry's Tea To Review Sponsorship Of Race At Curraheen Greyhound Track

Barry's Tea say they are reviewing their sponsorship of an annual race at Curraheen Greyhound Track.

The Cork company made the statement following the airing of an RTE Investigates programme which highlighted the treatment of greyhounds including the culling of thousands of greyhounds every year.

In a post on Twitter, Barry's said they are very concerned at the revelations highlighted in the programme and are currently reviewing their sponsorship of the annual Barry's Tea race at Curraheen Park.

The Irish Greyhound Board have condemned the acts and practices highlighted in the documentary and have since introduced a number of short term measures to improve the health and safety of the animals involved.
