Bezos to step down from running Amazon
Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos is stepping down from running the business on a day-to-day basis.
He'll become executive chair during the summer, with web services boss Andy Jassy succeeding him as CEO.
The online giant's reported record revenues for its Christmas quarter - topping more than €80bn - for the first time.
Business journalist Vincent Wall was he'll be leaving his position on a high.
"Jeff Bezos who has run Amazon since starting the company in 1994 has devoted an increasing amount of time to other interests in recent years.
"His announcement came as Amazon posted record sales for the fourth quarter last year, crossing $100bn in single quarter for the first time, like Apple did last week."
