Big Change In Weather On The Way

Today's sunshine isn't set to last much longer
The country is set for a cold snap early next week.
However, Ireland is unlikely to experience the same heavy snow forecast for parts of Britain on Easter Monday.
In Cork, we can expect a warm, sunny start to the bank holiday weekend but this will change on Easter Sunday with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees. Easter Monday will be cold and breezy, with frost and icy patches developing across Cork that night.
Alan O Reilly from Carlow Weather says while there will be some wintry showers here, it shouldn't be as bad as the UK:
"From Monday, we will have a much colder air mass coming in, and we will see some wintry showers. Now they'll mainly be in Ulster but some could be felt a little further south; but they will be mainly of sleet. However, there will be some snow showers on high ground in northern areas but we wouldn't expect to see some of the snow it has been forecast for the UK."
