Body of missing Mahon man recovered
The body of a man missing for over a week from the Mahon area of the city was discovered near Cork city over the weekend.. Tom Keane’s body was seen in the water in Loughmahon estuary on Sunday morning by a volunteer taking part in a massive search for the Mahon man. He was last seen alive near his home in the Meadow Grove area of Mahon on Friday, October 17. A massive search had been undertaken, involving 250 members of the public, Waterford Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter, the Garda Water Unit, and several coastguard units Tom Keane's body was taken from the water on Sunday and taken to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination.
