Breast cancer claimed 89 lives in Cork last year.

The majority of those fatalities were in the county while 19 were recorded in the city.

The CSO also found that the numbers being diagnosed with breast cancer diseases is on the rise.

Speaking to RedFM News head of research for the Irish Cancer Society Dr Robert O'Connor says people should educated themselves on ways they can prevent the disease.
