Britain opts out of European single market

Britain won't be staying in the European single market and will look to strike more international trade deals.


Theresa May says staying in the single market would be like not leaving the EU at all because of the restrictions it would put on the UK.

The British Prime Minister said maintaining the common travel area with Ireland was also a key priority.
