British Police investigating the London Bridge atrocity reveal the terrorists were planning an even more deadly attack

They tried to hire a seven-and-a-half tonne lorry - but they had to rent a smaller van when the gang leader's payment failed to go through

Commander Dean Haydon from Counter Terrorism Command says they loaded it with bags of gravel and other weapons.

Meanwhile two men have been arrested in connection with the terror attack.

The 27 and 28 year olds are being held on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts after raids in east London.
