Broad welcome for capitol investment plan Leeside

It's part of a multi-billion euro nationwide investment plan.

The multi-million euro investment plan for Cork is being described as a confidence boost for the region.

The Capital Investment Plan which was unveiled this morning will see developments in areas like roads, policing, schools, housing and healthcare Leeside. 

Much of the plan was already known before today, including social housing units for the city and county, the flood defence scheme for the city centre and government funding for Páirc Uí Chaoimh and the new events centre.  

The plan also includes 13 new schools, Garda Stations for Macroom and Glanmire, the cleanup of Haulbowline and roads projects such as the Dunkettle interchange and the N28. 

It's part of a €42 billion euro nationwide infrastructure investment that will take place between next year and 2021.

Speaking to RedFM News, CEO of Cork Business Association Lawrence Owens says it's a step in the right direction.
