Brussels in lock down as the unofficial death toll from the bombings rises to 23

10 people reported to have been killed in the Metro blast near the EU with up to 13 killed at the Airport


23 people are now feared dead and 35 seriously wounded in explosions at Brussels Airport and a metro station near the EU - however this death toll is unofficial.

Belgian media is reporting that the airport blasts which happened in the departures lounge, were suicide attacks 

A third bomb was detonated at a metro station near the EU headquarters as Belgium raised it's terror level to the maximum level in the wake of airport explosions

The blast at the Maalbeek Metro station is reported to have claimed the lives of 10 people prompted the EU Commission to order staff to stay indoors or remain at home 

Brussels Airport has been evacuated and is closed and all metro stations in Brussels have been closed after the explosions

Aer Lingus is offering free changes and refunds to anyone travelling to Brussels today
