BT Young Scientist Exhibition Kicks Off Today

Over 1200 budding scientists are taking part in the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition at Dublin's RDS.
Kinsale Community School has topped the entry list among Cork schools in the competition with 39 students entering 20 projects
A total of 135 projects have been entered by students at 39 Cork secondary schools with issues such as the enviornment, homelessness and fake news dominating this year's entries
60% of the entrants nationally this year are female and Kinsale Community School is reflecting that trend with only 5 boys out of the 39 students taking part in the event.
Science and Maths teacher at Kinsale Community School Shaun Holly told RedFM News that if the trend continues women will be the largest majority in science based industries
