Budgeting service advises people to "shop smart" this Christmas
The Money Advice and Budgeting Service is advising people to "shop smart" this Christmas.
It's one of the 12 recommendations issued by Cork MABS in the run up to the festive season.
The service says many people Leeside are failing to plan in advance and differentiate between priority and non-essential spending and as a result they're ending up in debt in the new year.
Speaking to RedFM News Margaret O'Neill of Cork MABS has this advice for parents:
