Building Boom In Cork Could Lead To More Construction Workplace Deaths Unless Proper Precautions Are Taken

That's according to the Health and Safety Authority

The latest figures show construction workplace fatalities have increased to levels not seen since 2015. 

46 people died from workplace accidents in Ireland last year, five of whom were in Cork, and while the agriculture sector remains the most dangerous the construction sector is seeing a spike in accidents.

Speaking to RedFM Dr Sharon McGuinness of the HSA says accidents in smaller companies and among self-employed people are particularly common:
