Bus Eireann reverses cuts to 203 bus route

Bus Eireann has reversed the cuts imposed on the 203 bus route in Ballyphehane which led to Connolly Road and Lower Friars Walk no longer being served by that bus.
The changed plans had seen the route being served by the revised 209A service but locals claimed that it was a reduced service and they wanted their original 20 minute bus frequency resumed.
The bus stop on Barbers Corner has now been re-located to Lower Friar's Walk outside the former Manhattan Bar while the Lower Connolly road stop has been re-instated to its original location near Colaiste Stiofan Naofa.
Meanwhile
Talks are to take place between locals from Mahon, the National Transport Authority and Bus Eireann tomorrow to discuss the re-instatement of all the stops on the 202 bus route.
The meeting follows a lightening picket this morning outside Capwell Bus Depot which disrupted bus services for two hours.
