Buttevant Bus Fire Update : Driver hospitalised, all passengers safe and well

The secondary school students on board the bus were all safely evacuated
The driver of a bus carrying a group of secondary school pupils from Ennis had to be rushed to hospital after the bus he was driving burst into flames in Buttevant
Eye witnesses told RedFM News that the bus was carrying the students to a match, however they had to be evacuated through the emergency exit at the back of the bus after the fire broke out at the front ofthe vehicle near the driver around 11am
The pupils were taken in to the local primary school , Scoil Mhuire na Trocaire, where they were examined by ambulance personnel and treated for shock..
None of the students have been injured and all are reported to be safe and well
The driver had to be taken by ambulance to hospital while firefighters from Mallow and Charleville extinguished the blaze on board the bus
