Cabinet Signs off on wording of Abortion Legislation

The Cabinet has signed off on the wording of the new abortion legislation. Ministers held two special meetings in Government Buildings today to finalise the terms of the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill. The Health Minister James Reilly will publish the legislation later this evening. Earlier the Taoiseach told the Dail that he's been sent plastic foetuses and letters in blood as well as being called a murder over the Government's decision to legislate for abortions to save a woman's life. Enda Kenny says today's discussions were very constructive and coherent: (Click above to hear Enda speaking to reporters after the hearings)
