Calls For Immediate Compulsory Purchase Orders On Derelict Sites Across City

It's being argued that the move could tackle the worsening homeless crisis Leeside.
It comes after the Leeside Apartment building was purchased by the Clúid Housing Association and Cork City Council to address the social housing waiting list and prevent homelessness for those who currently reside in the building.
However at a press conference held in the city today calls were made for further action on the housing crisis.
A march is being held in the city this Saturday where six demands are being made including a ban on evictions into homelessness, real rent controls and a referendum to establish a constitutional right to a home
