Calls for a safer internet centre in Ireland

It follows the news that images of Cork teens have been published on a porn site.
Calls are being made for a safer internet centre to be introduced in Ireland in the wake of a story which broke on RedFM in the past 24 hours.
It emerged that a number of Cork teenagers and children as young as 12 have had their Facebook pictures uploaded to an international porn website.
The photos are then viewed and shared, with users of the Ireland Exposed section of the website, posting horrific and sexually graphic comments.
RedFM News has learned that Ireland's safer internet centre is only at project stage and because gardaí are limited in their powers to deal with situations where no crime has been committed, it means there's very little support for victims of this type of activity.
Speaking to RedFM News director of child watch Pat McKenna says the centre would act as a middle man between victims of this type of activity and the websites involved.
