Calls For Blue Lighting In Cork's Public Toilets
There are calls for the installation of blue lighting in Cork's public toilets to discourage heroin use. It comes after reports of discarded needles in the city centre, and also after a 6-year-old boy pricked himself with one on Noonan's Road in May. Plastic bins have already been installed in public toilets on the Grande Parade in a bid to deter unsafe disposal of such paraphernalia. City councillor Des Cahill intends to raise the proposal at the next Joint Policing Committee meeting.
