Calls for bypass as Castlemartyr traffic branded 'unbearable'

Heavy traffic congestion at Castlemartyr has reached what has been described as an unbearable level for commuters.

The Transport Minister Shane Ross is now being called on, to put in motion, the necessary steps for a relief road to bypass the village of Castlemartyr.

The location of the village on the main route from Cork to Waterford has seen traffic volumes increase in recent years to 22,000 vehicles passing through the area each day.
