Calls for changes to bonfire celebrations across County Cork

Suggestions have been made for community groups to develop community friendly bonfires in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour
Bonfire celebrations across County Cork are getting out of hand.
That's according to representatives of the Gardai and the Council who are due to meet to discuss the issues surrounding Bonfire Night in estates across the county.
Calls have been made for the county council to adopt the city council's Bonfire Night Initiative, which sees communities create family fun evenings at official bonfire sites.
It comes as last year's celebrations were marred following an incident in Mitchelstown when a car was driven onto a bonfire.
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr Eoghan Jeffers says a funding scheme should be put in place to stop the escalation of dangerous behaviour on the night.
