Calls For Government To Bring Specific Mental Health Strategy For Children

It comes as it was revealed more than 200 children out of almost 700 in Cork and Kerry have been waiting more than a year for CAMH Services in the region
The lack of timely access for children to mental health services has implications for the severity of their illness as well as their recovery.
That's the message from Fianna Fáil, which is calling on the Government to bring in a specific mental health strategy for children.
The call comes as it was was recently revealed that more than 200 children out of almost 700 in Cork and Kerry have been waiting more than a year for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the region.
Meanwhile, more than 400 children out of almost 900 in Cork have been waiting more than a year for a psychology appointment
Fianna Fáil mental health spokesperson, James Browne, says it's totally unacceptable:
