Calls for immediate Flood Relief Action in Bandon
Residents and Traders in Bandon are today assessing the damage to properties in the wake of Storm Desmond.
The River Bandon burst its banks flooding over 20 premesis and making roads impassible.
Members of the defence forces and emergency services were called in to help local authorities in gale force winds and torrential rain.
In Nov 2009 Bandon experienced extensive flooding, leaving over 200 properites damaged cauging significant financial hardship to traders.
Six years on Residents are still frustrated that a flood defence scheme has not yet been implemented.
Speaking to RedFM News spokesperson for Bandon Flood Group Gillian Powell says flood relief is a critical issue for Bandon:
