Calls for reform of Irish health service

A public meeting is being held in the city on health system reform.

The National Association of General Practitioners wants to take politics out of the Irish health service.

The comments come as a public meeting is due to get underway in the city later this evening to discuss the reform of the health care system.

Its part of a series of meetings being held nationwide with tonight's meeting being held at the Clayton Silver Springs Hotel at 7.30pm.

Speaking to RedFM News, Cork GP Adrian O'Donovan and member of the Council of the NAGP says they want to make a long term plan that isn't impacted by a change in government.
