Calls For Probe Into The Sale Of The LE Aisling in Cork

It was sold at auction in Carrigaline to a Dutch ship broker for €110,00 and is now being re-sold for €683,000
The Department of Defence is coming under fire amid claims that the state lost out on the sale of Irish Naval vessel the LÉ Aisling.
It was sold at auction in Carrigaline to a Dutch ship broker for €110,000. It's now being re-sold for €683,000.
PDForra has hit out at the original sale price and say a higher reserve should have been set at the auction.
It's understood the new owner faced significant costs in restoring the ship for re-sale.
Fine Gael TD and Public Accounts Committee member Alan Farrell says he wants to know why no valuation or minimum reserve was sought.
