Calls for public toilets on Cork beaches

There are increasing calls for public toilets on Cork beaches.
The Irish Examiner reports a meeting of the County Council also heard calls more litter bins and increased outdoor staff for popular areas.
Large numbers of people flocked to the county's beaches at the weekend...
There were reports of widespread littering, badly parked cars and long lines for public toilets.
Council Chief Executive Tim Lucey said the county would have no public litter bins if he had his way and said the €3.2 million the Council spent on street cleaning and litter management every year is not a good use of tax-payers money.
