A new survey has found that 7 out of 10 parents believe schools and sports clubs do not have sufficient protocols when dealing with concussion in sport.
A new campaign "Concussion Aware" is being launched which is calling on schools and clubs to ensure adequate procedures are in place to deal with concussion.
Meanwhile the Bons Secours Hospital have been running a public awareness campaign to help parents, teachers and coaches recognise concussion.
Speaking to RedFM News Consultant Pediatrician of the Bons Secours Hospital Dr Niamh Lynch says active rehabilitation is key for children.
