Calls for sulky racing to be banned
Sulky Racing protesters will hold a demonstration outside the Department of Transport today The practice involves harness-racing a horse and trap - and is becoming more common on Irish roads. A high profile incident involved a sulky race on the main Cork to Mallow Road in May 2012- which went viral on YouTube Bernie Wright of the Alliance for Animal Rights says it's dangerous for road users and has been fatal for some horses: Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
