Calls for the local property tax to be spent in Cork

Urgent calls are being made for the local property tax to be spent locally. Cork Business Association says €26 million was collected in Cork last year and despite the fact that the majority of this cash is meant to be ring fenced to be spent locally by local councils this hasn't happened yet.. The C.B.A. says €5.6 million was collected in Cork city and if 80% of that was available to the Council to be spent in the city if would be of great benefit to Cork.. Lawrence Owens told the Neil Prendeville Show that there's nothing 'local' about the local property tax Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
