Calls made for review of secondary route between Glanmire and Dunkettle

Calls are being made for the review of a secondary route that links Glanmire and Dunkettle outside a build up residential estate. Residents say that since traffic lights were installed in Glanmire, motorists are trying to avoid them and are diverting to the secondary route to travel to the East side of the city faster. This has resulted in cars speeding excessively along the straight road which has a speed limit of 50 km/h. Numerous petitions have been organised by residents in the area who say unless speed ramps or speed checks are set up someone will be killed. AUDIO: Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show however, Councillor Paudie O'Sullivan says he's been told funding is not available to change the layout of road. Click the PLAY button above to hear.
