Calls To Reduce Grave Price Hikes In Cork City

The rise in prices comes following last week's city boundary extension

City Hall is being called upon to reverse new cost increases on the purchase of graves that have recently become part of Cork city.

Since last week's boundary extension a number of cemeteries including Ballincollig's new and old St. Oliver's cemeteries and St Senan's in Tower have experienced price hikes.

The price hikes at the cemeteries range from 455 to 1 thousand euro while the cost of gravediggers has also risen, going from 250 euro to now standing at 730 euro.
