Campaigner Welcomes Stumbling Block To Kelp Harvesting In Bantry

Campaigners in a West Cork town say they're breathing a sigh of relief today
It's after the High court determined yesterday that it had no jurisdiction to judicially review the licence granted to BioAtlantis to mechanically harvest kelp in Bantry, as the Government has yet to fulfill all the legal procedures required to issue such a licence.
In a statement issued to RedFM News, BioAtlantis say they cannot comment on the Judicial Review at the moment. However, they are currently reviewing the court's decision and its implications, if any.
Speaking to RedFM News Dolf D'Hondt, member of the Bantry Bay Protect Our Native Kelp Forest Campaign, says the development is a step in the right direction for the campaign and for the fishing and tourism industries in Bantry but he says there's a long road ahead:
