Campaigners against a proposed €160 million waste incinerator for Cork Harbour are to use Prince Charles's visit to the Irish Naval Service at Haulbowline tomorrow to highlight their opposition to the controversial project.
Residents in the harbour are being urged to take part in the silent and peaceful protest as Prince Charles passes through Ringaskiddy
The controversial facility was given the green light by An Bord Pleánala despite local opposition and this week Cork City and County Council registered their opposition to the facility and highlighted their support to the local communities fighting the project..
Campaigners are currently trying to raise funds to take An Bord Pleánala's decision to the High Court for a judicial review.
Speaking to RedFM News in the past few minutes Gertie O'Driscoll of Ringaskiddy Residents Association says Prince Charles visit gives the campaigners an opportunity to bring their opposition to the incinerator on a world stage
