Campaigners calling for an end to the housing crisis in Cork are threatening to occupy vacant homes.
A rally took place outside City Hall ahead of a Council meeting this week with people at risk of homelessness criticising the number of vacant properties Leeside.
It comes as the provision of social housing and the causes of the housing crisis will be discussed by experts at a seminar in Dublin today.
Leeside, a charity for the homeless says they have seen a 21% increase in the numbers sleeping rough in the city and say the numbers accessing their services are continuing to rise.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Simon's Paul Sheehan says they are looking to the next government to tackle the issue:
