Canadian wildfire forces 80,000 people from their homes

An area of 1,600 square kilometres around Fort McMurray is ablaze


Canadian officials say cooler weather has helped them, as they try to contain a huge wildfire. 

It's estimated to have destroyed 16-hundred square kilometres in the province of Alberta. 

It's not yet known when the 80-thousand people forced from their homes will be able to return.

Alberta forestry information officer Leslie Loz-in-ski says there's still plenty of work to do once the bulk of the fire is out:
